Girl Friday: Top Five Lunch Hour Treats for Busy Girls

Posted on September 24, 2010

Five best lunch hour pick me ups for busy girls…

1) Crabtree and Evelyn Express Manicure: Enter the quiet calm of the C&E store in Canary Wharf and settle in for half an hour while they sort out your digits – a great range of polish to choose from, soft, smooth hands and perfect nails. Well worth it. £40, Cabot Place.

2) Blink Brow Bar Threading: there’s a reason that every makeover starts with someone’s eyebrows – because well-shaped brows actually make you look better. True story. Fifteen minutes to fabulous, and you can get it done pretty much anywhere in central London. £17 Fenwicks, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, John Lewis and House of Fraser. Review here.

3) Elemis Spa Pod Facial: Switch off for half an hour while someone gives you an excellent power facial and a lovely shoulder massage. Soothing music, candles and absolutely no strip lights or computers. Leave the office behind and emerge feeling and looking brighter. £40, John Lewis and Debenhams. Review here.

4) Beaute Therapy Pedicure, Trevor Sorbie: nip into this lovely spacious hair salon in Covent Garden over your lunch break and collapse into their treatment room with a glossy mag and some peppermint tea while someone buffs and soothes and smoothes your feet, leaving with you delicious twinkle toes and a spring in your step. £30, Trevor Sorbie, Covent Garden.

5) Groom Zoom Zone Massage: I love everything Groom, and their signature massages, performed by two therapists – one working on your head, neck shoulders, the other on feet, legs and arms, and then both on your back – are amazing. A soothing half hour wonder. Perfect if you’ve just had a lengthy morning meeting with your ranty boss. £60, Selfridges and Knightsbridge. Review here.
