Just got the following through from IDI Skin Smart, the research and expert arm of Dermalogica. It’s sensible, helpful info that we could ALL do with. So get a cuppa and have a read.
  •  Noticeable dryness
  • Increased sensitivity
  •  Dry patchy areas
  • Redness and dryness

 For oily/breakout-prone skin

Choose non-abrasive Hydroxy Acid exfoliants that gently dissolve dead cells while delivering purifying, oil-absorbing benefits. Salicylic Acid, clays, Sulfur and soothing Lavender and Aloe are friends to your skin. Steer clear of physical scrubs (think grains and beads) that can aggravate and further inflame breakouts. The International Dermal Institute recommends scrubs made of finely granulated Corn Cob Meal.

For sensitive skin

Choose gentle, superfine powders that activate with water. Key ingredients include brightening Rice Bran, Phytic Acid and microfoliating (milder yet effective) exfoliating fruit enzymes. These can be used daily and are super quick and easy shower products.

For aging, dry, lackluster skin

Choose a warming skin polisher that helps drive age-fighting ingredients into the skin. Also look for combined physical/chemical exfoliants including Lactic Acid and Silica with skin-shielding vitamins A, C, and E, White Tea and Licorice. Remember; more is not better. Once or twice a week is all that is needed to get smooth healthy skin.
