PP loves…

This week i’m loving…

3rd Feb 2011: Black Chicken Remedies. Fresh from Bondi Beach, these new high end creams and oils from Oz are making quite the impact. Exclusive to Selfridges, using lots of awesome essential oils, their 100% natural Love Your Body Oil for Men & Women is a delicious smelling oil that leaves your skin deliciously smooth and supple. I use it after swimming and it’s been great on my frazzled skin.

12th November 2010: Neals Yeard, Lavender Essential Oil. I burnt my hand twice last week during some, ahem, drunken cooking, and it hurts. My dear mother, wise about these things as mother’s are wont to be, suggested lavender oil. It works. Incredibly well. It’s soothes and clears and actually improves the skin around my burn. It healed quicker than it normally does, and the scarring is much less. Neals Yard is my fave for natural products, and their lavender oil is very good value at £5.80 for 10ml. Thanks, Mummy.

28th October 2010: I know i’ve already gone on and on about this Clinique Strawberry Fudge Holiday Compact here, but I just think it needs more attention. This is great value, and it includes three lovely shades which are glossy and shimmery, while being strong enough to add definition and shape. The blush is a gorgeous, warm coral pink and adds subtle definition to cheeks without making you look like clown face. It’s a perfect option for handbags and is the only thing i’ve been using for the last two weeks. £25.

11th Oct 2010: Benefit, All You Need is Gloss set. I got this free when I spent over £50 in Debenhams recently, and the deal might well still be going on. Even if it isn’t this is one of the best purchases I’ve made recently. Benefit lip glosses are consistently impressive and the six shades you get here are a perfect example of their range. With three wands, each with two glosses on it makes perfect sense to pop one in your handbag and use the other two at home, and you can always chop and change. I’ve used every single colour at least twice, the depth is good, and it last a long time. I also think the value is excellent, £19.50 / 6 lip gloss.

Oct 4th 2010: Figs and Rouge are a 100% organic beauty company whose credentials boast Winners of the 2009 Natural Health Magazine Awards; they’re also members of the Soil Association. They make some lovely products, using their two signature blends – Rambling Rose and Sweet Geranium. Their balms are the most sought after. I’ve been enjoying their Sweet Geranium balm, which is perfect for lips. Smooth, silky, not too sticky it leaves your lips moisturised, with a soft, glossy sheen. And the products also look great, classic French old style packaging, which is so pretty you’ll find you keep taking it out of your handbag to show it off! £3.95, 8ml

Sept 27th 2010: Wonderbalm, Connock London. This little tub of loveliness is the kind of thing you’ll put in your hanbag and use all the time. It’s thick and solid in consistency, and you only need a little bit. Rub it on to face, lips, elbows, hands, knees – anywhere that needs a moisturising pick me up. It contains Kukui oil, monoi, cocoa butter, mango butter and beeswax, but it manages not to be greasy at all. £18.50, 10ml.

Sept 20th 2010: BOING, from Benefit. Industrial strength concealer. Oh boy do you need this in your handbag! It covers everything, spots, blemishes, redness, dark circles, the truth. And it really works. Accept no substitutes. £16.
