Treatments

BODY

Breathe Easy, Dorchester Spa: a really excellent massage designed to loosen the chest and help with congestion at the incredible Dorchester Spa, luxury and qaulity go hand in hand.

Detox Wrap: a cooling wrap that helps with lymphatic drainage and will actually leave you slimmer and more toned after one session.

Groom one hour treatment: A one hour session with two therapists that includes a massage, facial, manicure and pedicure and brow tidy.

Puro Spa: escape into a quiet, calm world that does haircuts, hands and feet and facials.

Spray Tan: A bespoke spray tan from Fantasy Tan, gives a range of colours and shades, and last longer and looks better than St Tropez and Fake Bake.

Wellbeing Massage, Chelsea Club: Nice, but not especially effective massage at exclusive club in Chelsea.

FACE

Ark Skincare Facial, Kensington: A very different kind of facial, which focuses on the age of your skin, rather than it’s conditon. Very soothing and great value.

Chiron Age Defy: A non-invasive surgical treatment that uses a small electronic pen to open the pores and infuse your face with goodness. It works, defnitely, but isn’t cheap.

Groom, 1 hr treatment: as above in Body, the facial is one of the best express facials i’ve ever had, and the combination of massage, facial and other treatments leaves you feeling truly pampered.

Hydrodermabrasion at Hydrotherapy: a facial that you can see the impact of straight away, water molecules exfoliate your skin and a divine neck and shoulder massage stimulates pores and cells. Really recommended.

HAIR

Blink eyebrow threading: have tried this several times in Fenwicks and Selfridges. Walk-in appointments for quick threading on eyebrows, lips, cheeks etc. It’s a bit steep at £17 but I find I can’t beat it for location, ease and consistently good standards.

Neville Hair, Mystyfing Treatment: wonderful hairdressers in Kinghtsbridge, with great satff, great cuts and a wonderful moisturising ‘facial for your scalp’ which works wonders. Effects last for at least eight weeks.

Tantrum: a unique hairdresser for children that ensures your little terror sits quietly for a full hour, enetertained by train sets, mini tvs and juice drinks. A price worth paying for peace.

HANDS AND FEET

Crabtree and Evelyn, Canary Wharf: A  very restful lunchtime manicure at their shop in Cabot Place, nails dried quickly, looked good and the polish lasted for at least a week.

Groom, 1 hr treatment: As with FACE and BODY sections above, this also offers manicure and pedicure, excellent value for money here, great choice of polish, good exfoliation and massage of hands and feet and attnetion to detail. They even topped up my polish when i smudged.

Groom express mani and pedi: apart from the fact they called it ‘mani and pedi’, this was ok, fairly good value and nice a quick. But not relaxing, and

Powder Puff Girls, mobile manicure and pedicure: a night in with the girls and some mani/pedi action, the concept is great and our therapist was nice, though quality of both treatments was fairly average, and my nails chipped quite quickly.

ALTERNATIVE

City Hypnosis, weightloss: Amazing treatment for weightloss, which targets why you eat and attempts to implant in your brain suggestions for a healthier way of life. Worked almost immediately and was very effective, eating habits and weight have changed dramatically.

Facial Acupuncture, Home House: Brighter eyes, more energy and fresher skin at this trendy spa, part of a private members club in Marylebone. Well worth a step outside your comfort zone.

Innersound accupressure: classical Chinese treatment for health and wellbeing, involves a strong massage, concentrating around the abdomen, designed to release energy and blockages. Despite being impressed with some aspects, I remain unconvinced.
